Sew an impressive pillow that looks more complicated to create than it is! It is all about cutting at an angle!
Finished size approximately 55cm (22”) square
- Select eight different fabrics in solid colors. For best results use heavy, home décor weight fabrics, leather, faux leather, etc.
- Cut two pieces 90x9cm (35½”c3½”) long from each fabric.
- Make two units composed of eight strips (one of each color) by sewing the long sides together with a ¼” 6mm (¼”) seam allowance.
- Cut a 45º degree angle on the short end of one unit and then cut into four pieces 7.5cm (3”) wide.
- Cut a 315º angle on the short end of the second unit and then cut into four pieces 7.5cm (3”) wide.
- Sew pieces with opposite angles together to create the zigzag pattern. The IDT™ system makes it surprisingly easy to achieve perfect results.
- Select one of the fabrics for the backing and complete as desired, using a zipper or buttons and buttonholes for a closure.
Good Luck with your project!
